Treasures in the Attic

xTuple seeks Product Manager

We are actively seeking an App Store Product Manager, someone who can help us curate and attract code to augment the xTuple community ecosystem. Is it you?

The ideal candidate will be someone who is familiar with xTuple ERP and with scripting. The job requires someone comfortable reading code (C++ and JavaScript). He or she needs to understand a scripted package, brush it up and publish it for the online store.

The position also requires business savvy. As in all things on the Web, our app store, the xTuple's Marketplace, has room for improvement. The app store product manager should have an eye for community development and be able to focus on nurturing community resources to increase code submissions from Partners and open source community members.

This position is truly searching for the treasures in the "Attic," .i.e., that room in your house where you put all the great stuff you don't need right now but know you'll want again later.

Yes, we have one of those, at least virtually. It's a room full of code that's been written to extend or enhance the xTuple core software. Some was written for customers, some for ourselves. There's a ton of "stuff" in there, in files and folders, packages and scripts. It's like Antiques Roadshow — there's gold in that attic, if you know where to look.

It's time to fix that. We want to bring the code out of the closet, dust it off, wrap it in clean packages, and add it to our site for our partners and customers to find and use.

This will be a step toward encouraging an even more active community of developers. Contributions exist, but until now we have not done enough to highlight our contributors.

Maybe you can help. If you've been working with xTuple software, and you're looking for a new and exciting opportunity with a company that's experiencing tremendous growth, we want to hear from you.

Send your resume in confidence. We are always accepting applications from talented people.
