Asset Maintenance Specification posted

I have just posted a specification for extending the Fixed Assets functionality to include Maintenance. This was my original goal when I started the discussion around Fixed Assets last year and I have now started formulating a design and specification. I welcome all commments and contributions.  The specification can be found at Asset Maintenance.

The specification goes into more detail and provides some example screenshots to help visualize what the end design might be like.

The purpose of the Maintenance package is to allow the planned and scheduled maintenance of Fixed Assets as well as recording the outcomes of maintenance activities. This is an especially important piece of functionality for asset intensive industries and ties in nicely with the manufacturing bent that xTuple started from.

I am hoping that we can stimulate some intense discussion as we did with the Fixed Asset forum last year. The more people contribute and comment the better the outcome will be. So please go ahead and start commenting against the Asset Maintenance specification.

Regards,

Dave
