xTupler #37 | November 2014
Dear Community —
Thanks to everyone who joined us for xTupleCon 2014. It was a great week - from Woz-mania, to some great in-depth pre-conference workshops, to the post-conference partner meeting... and of course, the two full days of regular sessions and keynotes.
It was great to see so many old friends, and to meet many of you in person for the first time! A big "hats off" to the xTuple marketing team for putting together such a great event! And congratulations, as well, to our Community Awards winners and haxTuple champion Keith Rauseo (more on that below).
But we're not resting on our laurels here at xTuple. At the show, we told you that we're bringing the multiple product and service innovations of the past few years out of the research and development lab, and put them into your hands. We're redoubling our efforts to serve you - our customers, partners, and community members - and help you achieve maximum value out of the investment you've made in xTuple.
One of the ways we're doing that is with our Year-End Savings promotion. Yes, that spells YES. If you're going to have a TLA (three-letter acronym), at least make it positive!
Here are some details on the YES promotion. With a qualifying purchase by December 12, you can save 25% OFF any combination of the following:
- Free PostBooks® license key holders upgrading to any Commercial Edition
- Adding xTupleCommerce for your fully integrated, turnkey eCommerce and ERP system to manage the complexities of online business
- Adding xTuple Business Intelligence, a complete solution for analysis of your sales process and customer relationship management program
Plus, we're offering a first-time offer for bundled Professional Services:
- Buy 24 hours of expert consulting services to use at any time and in any increment
- Cost only $4,800 - that's a $25 per hour savings
- Hours valid for an entire year, not ending until December 31, 2015
Remember, these Year-End Savings expire just before the actual end of the year, Friday December 12. Contact xTuple Sales today to talk about how this promotion can work best for you, and deliver some terrific value from your xTuple system!
Finally, if you haven't had a chance to test the all-new xTuple University training website, you're in luck - we've extended the free beta period through the end of the year. Over 100 new videos plus recordings of past training classes, webinars, and more! This will convert to a paid service in the new year, but until then, it's an all-you-can-eat buffet! The perfect opportunity to learn more about every category of xTuple topics - hands-on operational, deeply technical, and everything in between.
Thanks, as always, for your support of the world's #1 open source ERP.

Where's Wally? Winding down 2014 Expo & Conference Circuit
Canadian-based partners Syntropy and Interaction Versa worked with xTuple on two successful Toronto events this fall, featuring our VP Sales Wally Tonra. In addition to the Greater Toronto Area Business Showcase in September, the team presented at a conference with BusinessVision Integration Partners (BViP) to introduce xTuple to those Sage customers with software products now in "sunset" mode.
Wally was joined in the xTuple booth by Partner Phil McIntosh (Friendly Systems) during the FABTECH Expo - North America's Largest Metal Forming, Fabricating, Welding and Finishing Event - at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta this week. Happy PostBooks® customer Atlanta Rod & Manufacturing Company and Manufacturing Edition customer Fabricators Inc. sought out the xTuple team amidst 40,000+ attendees at the show.

"This conference was educational, great speakers with interesting information. For me, it was well worth all of the coordinating I had to do on my end to be able to attend every day. I learned a lot, reinforced some prior learning, and got a lot of great ideas of how to move forward with my business in a lot of different areas, all on a budget."

Customer Corner: Fabricators Inc.
Using QuickBooks® did everything he needed for accounting, but determining inventory and labor costs was still a messy process. With his new xTuple business management system, he was most excited about better forecasting with the full Master Production Schedule (MPS) to help prevent overtime and balance inventory needs.
"I didn't expect you guys to be up-to-date with MPS, but this MPS is icing on a cake," says Saul.
The haxTuple prize winner was announced at xTupleCon14: Keith Rauseo of EMSEAL Joint Systems based in Massachusetts (USA) and Ontario, Canada. A semi-regular event, haxTuple rallies the open source community towards the shared goal of improving the xTuple product suite. Previous iterations of haxTuple were as a bug-fixing derby, while this year's added a wildcard introducing new technologies to community members.

xTuple Partner Feature: SDG Consulting
Danielle Kerner, xTuple Partner Channel Director, recently interviewed Chicago-based Anil Cherian, founder and president of SDG Consulting, whose information technology business is focused on market intelligence research and business process consulting.
As a big proponent of open source, Anil joined the xTuple Partner Program to expand his client services portfolio and power his growth opportunities. He was drawn to xTuple for a number of reasons:
"What stood out to me was the transparency that was present, and, as far as [xTuple's] ability to publish their pricing, make it clear to a potential customer what they're getting into. Whereas I've dealt with other vendors as a trusted advisor, for different clients, where they tell me, "yes, the vendor, or potentially the ERP person, what's this really going to cost my client?" and then you hear crickets. So it's really important for there to be transparency in the process, because something like ERP is going to touch every part of your business and people want to be aware of what they're getting into."
