xTupler #25 — September Rewards, our way of saying "thank you"

xTupler #25  |  August-September 2012

Dear Community —

It's been a busy summer for us here at xTuple. Our new Mobile Web app is now in private beta testing, and we continue to expand into the wholesale distribution market. We've seen terrific growth so far in 2012, and we'd like to say "thank you" to our ever-growing global community of customers, partners and other users.

In thanks - we'd like to give you something back. Introducing our September Rewards program with three great deals on xTuple software, this month only:

  1. Convert to Perpetual License: Currently an Annual License subscriber? This is your best chance to obtain generous "trade-in" credits for what you've paid to date, applied against the Perpetual License cost. This is essentially the difference between renting your software and owning it (some companies prefer to capitalize the cost of Perpetual Licenses.) So, check with your accountant, then contact xTuple Sales.
  2. Upgrade to a Commercial Edition: Current PostBooks users, take 50% off the Commercial Edition of your choice. Current users of xTuple Standard, Project or Manufacturing, take 30% off the cost of upgrading to xTuple Enterprise.
  3. Buy 3, Get 2 More FREE: Just looking to pick up additional licenses for your current commercial xTuple product? Maybe you're tired of getting those "helpful" reminders from the license manager? Buy 3, Get 2 More!

Please contact xTuple Sales and take advantage of any of these special offers. September Rewards expire at 12 midnight Eastern Time (GMT-05:00-US & Canada) on Sunday, September 30, 2012.

Finally, you'll see a lot below about fantastic training classes we recently held in Washington, D.C. The first class, Setup Configuration and Operations, sold out quickly - and by popular demand, we've added another week-long class, to be held October 8-12 at our Norfolk, Virginia, headquarters. Don't delay - Reserve your seat today.

Thank you, again, for all of your support of xTuple.

Ned Lilly
President and CEO

Special offer for U.S.-based xTuple users to save big bucks

Why buy alone? This is the question any small business owner needs to ask.

In answer, xTuple has partnered with Industries United, formed to connect thousands of small businesses into industry groups to purchase material and operational supplies, together. This includes a national buying program with Fastenal, a global sourcing company with local, one-stop stores worldwide offering a spectrum of original equipment manufacturer (OEM); manufacturing, repair and operations (MRO); and construction supplies.

This program allows any business to buy supplies from Fastenal at "National Account" pricing. Due to the size of the group, everyone saves. Thanks to this partnership, any U.S.-based xTuple user has access to the program. It's completely FREE to participate.

See xTuple's Next Business Blog for more details on the IU/Fastenal buying program, And, sign-up here.

Greg Pazo
Software Engineer

Welcome, Greg, to the Product Development Team. The Ides of March in 2012 marked Greg's start here at HQ as an intern. He became an official full-time xTupler just 90 days later working in the core development of the desktop client and recently stepping up to assume Release Coordinator duties - planning, managing and implementing releases of the xTuple software.

Greg earned a B.S. in Computer Engineering Technology at Old Dominion University and is a native of nearby Virginia Beach, Virginia.

When asked what led to technology as a career, Greg replied, "My dad was an IT guy for the Navy, and when he retired he continued on with it and also taught me, growing up, about computers. I knew I would pursue a career involving computers and software development. Computers and technology are so dynamic and change every day, that's what makes it so interesting...a field where there are no limits."

Couldn't have said it better ourselves!

Enterprise ICG compares xTuple ERP to other business management software

Washington D.C. played host to two international xTuple training classes: Setup, Configuration & Operation on August 13-17 and the Power User Training Class for advanced users (the last scheduled offering of this class in 2012), on August 20-23.

Attendees included new xTuple Partners from Australia and Brazil, who started as users of xTuple's free PostBooks product in family businesses in manufacturing and construction. The new Partners are now developing consultancy businesses in their respective countries around xTuple software and services - a successful business model xTuple has seen numerous times, with entrepreneurs across the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Europe.

Enterprise ICG compares xTuple ERP to other business management software

During a class break, we caught up with Stephen Meyer, Senior Partner at Enterprise ICG, as he shared his assessment of xTuple as compared to other software implementations such as SAP, Intuitive and Microsoft AX.

"We found xTuple to be very powerful for a certain size customer. We really couldn't offer these type of ERP environments - these other ones that I mentioned - to this level of customer. They simply couldn't afford it. Not the complexity, nor the cost."
