Day One — Tuesday, November 13 (2:30-3:20 PM)

"How to Coast through ISO Certification"

By Marsha Kitter — Manager-Finance & Technology, CDB Corporation 339114: Dental Equipment and Supplies Manufacturing (Medical Device Manufacturing)

On The Plant Floor, Optimizing Production and Operations Track:
If you’re anything like my manufacturing company, you need to calibrate measuring equipment with standards traceable to NIST, document equipment and maintenance schedules, monitor lot traceability and labeling, manage staff training, qualifications, and more. CDB* continues to make significant business process improvement from plant floor operations to increasing profit on the bottom line. For example, we’ve reduced employee time and paper – not to mention our carbon footprint – with emailed order confirmations, packing lists, invoices and statements. Easy to customize screens and reports in our business management software helped deliver immediate production feedback to us with quality inspection reports. Maintaining ISO Certification has never been easier.

Takeaways from this session:

  • Hear process improvement strategy for a beefier bottom line
  • See specific tactics for improved production feedback
  • Learn how to make the strictest ISO Certification easy

Wally Tonra is a problem-solver, plain and simple. He’s worked with enterprise-level business management services since the mid-1990s and has been VP of sales at xTuple since 2007. After decades of dealing with vendor-centric, proprietary enterprise software, Wally’s move to open source xTuple – a Mac-friendly, manufacturing-focused enterprise resource planning (ERP) company – was a natural evolution. Prior to xTuple, Wally spent his early career at JD Edwards (acquired by Peoplesoft and then Oracle), Daly.commerce (formerly Daly and Wolcott), hardware supplier XL/Datacomp and storage vendor EMC. Wally holds a B.S. from Boston College, where the Mac fanaticism all began.
