One of the things I like most about the Translation Portal is how it demonstrates that open source is not just for programmers. Anyone with an Internet connection and a little extra time can sign up and get involved. It's that easy. And plenty of people have been doing just that. As of right now, the portal is currently hosting 16 translation projects. Not bad for a tool we released late last year!
To be fair, we've received some constructive feedback encouraging us to improve the Translation Portal. The leading request has been to add global search functionality to simplify the process of searching for all instances of a particular term. We do plan to add this (and other enhancements) in the near future. Meanwhile, we've completely redesigned the site—including a complete overhaul of the language editing interface. These new changes are designed to improve both user experience and overall site performance.
So, if you're a translator and you haven't seen the new site yet, please drop by and let us know what you think. With your participation and input, we can make this portal the preferred resource for organizing asynchronous xTuple language communities.
