It's 2404 and the Open Source community is celebrating the end of proprietary software. It was a difficult battle and many enterprising early adapters had fallen by the wayside. This victory could have been achieved eons earlier if the Open Source Initiative had been organized in 1990.
My mission is to travel back in time to 1990 to organize the movement, so all will realize the benefits of Open Source before the proprietary closed end software companies gain a firm hold on the market share.
If my mission is successful, the business community will recognize the benefits of Open Source, the tech bubble won't burst, everyone will benefit through increased productivity at affordable costs, and never again will software developers hear "Every package I ever used did ______!"
"Set a course... for 1990."
