Open source innovator also expands offerings for manufacturing with wireless barcode scanning for shop floor and warehouse operations
Award-winning xTuple — global leaders in supply chain management software for companies of all sizes — announced the first major product release for the New Year, xTuple 4.3.0.
Beginning with version 4.3.0, xTuple ERP is now available in a dedicated commercial package for wholesale distributors. The Distribution Edition replaces the former Standard Edition, which will be retired, and includes integration with third party catalogs and pricing services including Trade Service, as well as one-click conversion from that catalog to a sellable Item including Vendor and pricing setup.
xTuple Distribution Edition includes a suite of enhancements formerly found in an add-on package called xWD. These features (see xTuple Distribution Edition for full feature list) were developed for any wholesale distributor, but specifically designed to meet the needs of the electrical, HVAC, plumbing and industrial supply marketplace.
Long-time distribution executive Stacey Pandeloglou continues to serve the community and offers software demonstrations of xTuple Distribution Edition.

Customers currently licensed for the Standard Edition will receive complementary upgrades to the Distribution Edition for their current contract year and should contact xTuple for special offers to upgrade to Distribution or Manufacturing Editions upon renewal. (Contact Us)
The 4.3.0 release introduces many other features, several of which were made possible by the FeatureMob2 crowd-sourcing campaign. Here is an overview of notable new features in the Desktop client for version 4.3.0:
- Auto-updating Desktop client: At login, version matching is conducted; if the two do not match, a new client matching the server version will download, if desired
- Blanket Purchase Orders: Contract-based purchasing
- Lot reservations: Manually reserve lot quantities to Sales Orders
- A/R and A/P Workbenches: Multiple usability enhancements
- Undo Bank Reconciliations: New flexibility to correct bank reconciliation errors
xTuple version 4.3 also sees multiple enhancements to the Mobile Web application, a browser-based option which works with any modern Web browser and is optimized for mobile devices running on iOS, Android or Windows 8.x operating systems. Unique among ERP vendors, xTuple has committed to replicating the entire suite of functionality available in the Desktop client for the Mobile Web offering, and version 4.3 is another major step toward that promise.
xTuple Desktop and Mobile Web applications
Included in the Mobile Web client for version 4.3 are more components of the Sales, Billing, and Inventory modules; a lightweight new JavaScript report writer; and wireless barcode scanning via the Motorola MC40 and other Android-based devices.
As always, please review the xTuple Compatibility Matrix before upgrading.
